Laboratory for structural characterization of materials

A modern diffractometer for the analysis of crystalline substances, including inorganic, organic, or metal-organic compounds, as well as minerals, alloys, thin films, semiconductors, superconductors, and other materials with diverse applications in science, engineering, construction, medicine, pharmacy, art, and everyday life.
The laboratory is open for collaboration with academic, innovation, and industrial institutions and firms.

Analys capabilities:

To provide a comprehensive overview of the diverse applications of X-ray powder diffraction in various fields, some examples are listed below:

  • Characterization of minerals and ores
  • Study of asbestos materials
  • Examination of the composition of calculi in kidneys and other organs
  • Investigation of the properties of thin films
  • Study of the composition and properties of various construction materials
  • Examination of the composition and structure of various frescoes, terracotta, coins, and other cultural artifacts
  • Characterization of materials in the fields of criminology and defense
  • Application in forensic science for the identification of various materials
  • Detection of pollutants in the environment and their characterization
  • Study of the composition and properties of various types of alloys
