Course objectives (competences):
Through interactive teaching, laboratory work and problem solving, students are expected to master the fundamentals of the systematic classification of chemical elements from the s- and p- blocks of the Periodic Table of Elements. Students are expected to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of inorganic chemistry.

Course content:
Based on the systematic classification of chemical elements in the Periodic Table of Elements, the alkaline and alkaline earth metals (Group 1 and 2 of the Periodic Table) will be systematically studied, followed by the elements included in Groups 13-18. For each element, its physical and chemical properties and their practical applications will be studied. Additionally, the well-known compounds of each element, their preparation, properties and applications will be covered. Students will conduct practical exercises in the laboratory for each group of elements, and within the numerical exercises, they will master chemical calculations (stoichiometric problems).
